Chris Mitchell has been with the national non-profit, Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) since October 2012, when he came aboard as the organization’s Community Fundraising Coordinator. He is currently serving as the Director of Development and is also an officer of the company. Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) is a publicly funded 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
An avid community volunteer and Scout leader for over 16 years in Foxboro, MA, Chris is also founder and president of Foxboro Never Forgets, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to inspire community service around the tragic events of September 11, 2001. With Chris’ leadership, the organization raised $150,000 to build a memorial to the heroes of September 11. The organization continues to promote the message of hope and national pride in his hometown. Chris served for six years on the Board of Selectman in Foxboro, MA. Chris has also served on the board of directors of the Partners in Patriotism Fund established by Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation.
Prior to his career at Homes For Our Troops, Chris owned and operated a successful landscaping company for 20 years. Chris then decided to find a career where he would be able to utilize his passion for community service and helping others. An integral part of the HFOT organization, Chris continues the tradition of helping our nation’s Heroes and providing a vehicle for others to do so as well.
Chris has been married to his wife Paula for over 36 years, and the couple has four children, and four grandchildren. Michelle is an HR professional. Patrick is a Major in the United States Army and a 2013 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Erin has her master’s degree and is a Special Education teacher for the Natick Public Schools, and John is a professional musician and is a SFC in the Massachusetts National Guard 215th Army Band.
